Only when diverse perspectives are included, respected, and valued can we start to get a full picture of the world: who we serve, what they need, and how to successfully meet people where they are. Listen, learn, unlearn, know when to lead, and know when to let others lead.

We see the long hours you put in and the hard work you are doing to give your students the best possible education in a hybrid setting (and we so appreciate you 💙). It's important to remember to take care of yourself, too. Allow yourself some time to REST.

I can’t even imagine what would happen if teachers and school staffs only worked their contractual hours, only fulfilled their contractual duties and only used the resources their schools provided.

The Great Conjunction, nicknamed the Christmas Star, happens tonight! Just after sunset, look 30° above the southwestern horizon. Jupiter & Saturn will be only a tenth of a degree apart, making it look like one very bright star. The last time it was this close/bright was in 1226!

Shoutout to #SAPD Officer Eloy Medina #631! Officer Medina saw a 16-year-old pushing her disabled mother in a wheelchair. Officer Medina made sure they were able to get to Walgreens for essentials and then to their apartment. Way to go, Officer Medina! 💙

Thanks so much, Shelby Gabrielson! I am so glad you were able to take away some 💡💡💡 to implement right away! We can be better at educating our students when we focus on the learning happening in the moment and use that to drive where we go from there! NEISD Instructional Technology

I used money while teaching multiplying and dividing decimals with 5th graders. We extended it later trading pennies for dimes and dimes for dollars. They also connected it to base ten blocks and quick draws. Jessica Ramirez #realworldconnection #mathacceleration
