I grew up in foster homes, fled as soon as I could by enlisting in the military at age 17, and studied psychology at Yale and Cambridge with the GI Bill + scholarships. Here are 31 things I learned from growing up in dysfunction and deprivation and climbing out of it Thread

I have a good Software Engineering student who was going to do an internship at a startup, but the startup just canceled all internships. Does anyone know of any last minute opportunities this summer? RT's for reach appreciated!

Something people don't appreciate about qualitative research is the amount of time it requires. Between scheduling, conducting, transcribing, & analyzing (& re-analyzing!) interviews; member checking; and being reflexive, it can take years to finish a study of 30 participants.

Amazing talk by Alberto Bacchelli on evidence-based software engineering. We need so much more of that, but with people like Alberto working on it, I’m sure we’ll get there! vimeo.com/749070018

Today at 11:30 in room 102, Roy will present our paper on Semi-Automatic, Inline and Collaborative Web Page Code Curations. This was an awesome tool and study to learn how we can support developers when connecting relevant webpages with their code. conf.researchr.org/details/icse-2…
