Yes! This! This is the -babiest- of pictures from he who came with me to rescue Aleksi from the shelter way back in October 2011. :D This was the photo on the Edmonton SPCA website that made me go “aaaa want!”

Update on Aleksi Potato - his surgery was today, and we got the call from the vet this afternoon that he’s okay! He’s missing a thyroid gland now, but he’s also now free of the cyst that was growing on it.

The boy has returned! Pick up was delayed by a small complication: his calcium levels dipped this morning to just below normal, but by the afternoon they’d normalized again and I could bring him home. <3 He violently refused the cone, and so the vet gave him a scarf instead.

Without all of his chest fur, his tucked paws look so silly. Poor guy. He’s almost healed up! Just a couple of scabs remain and the rest is healed up. Soon I’ll be able to remove that protective scarf.

Speaking of recovery, Aleksi is also doing much, much better! We are kin in looking rather awful these days. I took these about a week ago when we could finally take the sock off his neck.

The fur’s growing back pretty fast. He looks even better today.
