3RP enjoyed our Harvest talk with Rachel this week. Abertillery Learning Community

We decided that we wanted to learn about Africa, so we have included it in all of our activities as our international focus. We have made African masks in the craft area and created African animals. Abertillery Learning Community

Year 3 SC/KA investigated what fruits were our class favourites. We created tally charts and used JIT to create graphs. Following our tasks, Esther picked apples from her Mamgu’s tree and we had them for our healthy snack at break time 🍎 Abertillery Learning Community

Year 6 had a fantastic time connecting with nature! They used natural materials and chalk to create outdoor artwork, employing techniques like smudging and blending to bring their designs to life. It was a wonderful way to combine creativity with the great outdoors! 🌿✏️

6KM completed a fun density experiment using the seven-layer column. Their challenge was to predict where different objects would land in the layers. It was a great way to learn about the density of different objects and liquids. They enjoyed exploring density in a hands-on way!

1MC had a visit from a police officer to show and talk about how we can safely cross the road. They were able to wear a police jacket and sit in the police car👮🏼‍♀️👮🏾👮🏼‍♂️🚔🚓🚨 Abertillery Learning Community

🌍 SB CB4/5 kicked off their new topic Four Corners of the World by exploring the 7 continents. Turns out placing them on a world map is trickier than it looks! 🗺️✨ #EthicalInformedCitizens

Year 4 have been exploring place value using PV counters. We can confidently find 1, 10, 100 and 1000 and compare identifying more and less! #AmbitiousCapableLearners

CB 4/5 had so much fun making lung models using plastic cups, straws and balloons as part of our Healthy Living science unit! The balloons represented the lungs, the straw was the trachea and pulling the bottom balloon showed how the diaphragm moves to help us breathe. 🫁

Yr3 SB working practically on spotting patterns in maths. Learners explored what changes and what stays the same when adding multiples of 1, 10 or 100. They used part-whole models & base 10 to support learning.Abertillery Learning Community
