Hi! I am Alča Fišerová and I am a PhD student at Jihočeská univerzita 🧑🏻‍🎓. I am interested in interspecific interactions of European woodpeckers and their feeding ecology 🌲🌳. I am a member of Czech Centre of Cognitive Ethology 🐦 and looking forward to my first international conference Behaviour 2023 🤩.

Sometimes, I take a break from my beloved woodpeckers and go to other fieldwork 🌍. I'm currently in northern Norway 🥶 helping colleagues with research on the anti-predatory behaviour of Arctic terns and ringed plovers 🐧. Huge thanks to Czech Centre of Cognitive Ethology for so many opportunities 🤩!

More than 9 bird species in 5 countries 🤩Feeding ecology, antipredatory behaviour, predator recognition, interspecific interactions, bioacoustics, nest parasitism... This is the summary of our research for this field season. Hope that next season won't be so challenging.🥵🦅

How much reed is too much reed? 🤔 Thank you for the opportunity to have an internship with the amazing team led by Rose Thorogood in Helsinki. 🤩 I took away valuable experiences and tried a different fieldwork. Thanks to my team Czech Centre of Cognitive Ethology and Erasmus+ for their support.

I can't wait to attend my first international conference. 🤩 My stress level is rising every day 😰, but with my presentation on Wednesday, hopefully it will be better. I'm really looking forward to seeing you all there! 😍
