We're far more interested in a chess match between grandmasters than between AIs, even though the AIs are way better. I'm noticing the same thing with video and art. Once I realize it's made by AI I lose interest, no matter how good it is. Maybe a good sign for human creators?

You know, this is among the most authoritarian statements I've ever heard come out of the mouth of an American politician. That a platform can reach millions is not a good reason to give the government power to deplatform people and censor speech. 1/2

Yesterday in the Lords during a discussion on the riots, I pointed out that there have been far too many threats of more clampdowns and laws on XYZ, all justified by the riots. So I asked if the minister had ANY worries AT ALL over state-backed censorship? The response seemed to

And here's a snippet of Daniel Hannan in yesterday’s Lord's debate exploding the twin fallacies that lockdowns were a justifiable public health tool and that previous pandemic plans somehow prepared for the ‘wrong’ pandemic.

If you don’t have time for the whole post, here’s the essence: old Twitter banned and censored me even tho jack Vijaya Gadde - its two top officials - said it shouldn’t. Instead, Todd O'Boyle, a Twitter lobbyist under pressure from the govt and Pfizer Inc., secretly rammed the ban through.

Some of us actually have work to do representing clients. It won't help them if we are forced to spend precious time writing documents to prove we're advancing an inclusive culture, whatever that means.

The speaker is against speaking. Interesting to observe that this is in fact misinformation about misinformation. And notice how 'threats' and 'intimidation' are elided with 'misinformation'... Misinformation: disagreement with the government and its policy agenda.

An important point: all too often politicians put terms conflate "misinformation" with genuine issues like threats & intimidation. What is really dangerous is policy/laws that involve governments or their agencies deciding what constitutes mis/disinformation.
