Micheál was a friend and generous supporter of events run by our colleague Alan Kerins, and at the age of 83 led Alan’s ‘Sam to the Summit’ ascent of Carrauntoohil with the Sam Maguire Cup, a decade ago. The event raised over €100,000 for Africa.
