I will just have to make do with this unsigned copy of Richard Negus new book 😃! I’m very much looking forward to his words of wisdom and my purchase through The Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust will ensure a little bit goes towards further #wildlife research!

That's early, overwintered ones presumably, we tend to get migratory ones later, but far fewer than there used to be. Possibly different methods in E European cabbage fields where the lepidopteran horde originates.

Once again Mrs D’s #sweetpeas have started to bloom and are smelling absolutely divine. We favour Kings Seeds for their exceptional variety range!

There’s a promise of a good walnut crop this year……if the grey squirrels and rooks don’t beat me to them!

Well I had hoped for this but really didn’t expect it! A measure of how mild our winter was? Variegated Chlorophytum- traditionally an indoor plant - has survived outside and is regrowing happily under a hornbeam tree here in south Somerset.

A little lost where I’ve planted it (I’ll move it later) but Dierama mossii is putting on a good show. Shorter than the more common Angel’s Fishing Rod Dierama pulcherirrimum.

A little gruesome but proving that the common wasp is a gardener’s friend! Decapitation of a cabbage white caterpillar by a #wasp. Hope Pippa Greenwood Kate Bradbury šŸ³ļøā€šŸŒˆ and Guy Barter will sharešŸ¤ž(and have already had breakfast!) #wildlife #gardentips
