Past mistakes should not lead to a life sentence of poverty. This was a major topic last week at the The Clean Slate Initiative 2023 conference. Advocates from across the county, and the political spectrum, came together for thoughtful conversations on advocacy and ending violent crime.

The people of Kentucky came together this week for another motivating community gathering. Together, we discussed the relationship between substance use & mental health issues in efforts to dispel harmful stigmas that hurt our communities & prevent people from reaching recovery.

This is the reality of the unrealistic “rules” placed on folks who are re-entering

This is why we must find alternative solutions! What will it take before folks are ready to shift their thinking around incarceration?

It’s always good to place a magnifying glass on the things that are swept under the rug. Many of us know what really goes on in prison. It’s about time others learn the harsh reality!
