Thrilled to collaborate with the fantastic team of epithelial mechanics fan club for this thread on Mechanical Cell Competition 🌟. Find out how cells mechanically compete for limited space and resources in a tissue 💪. Thanks to Nimesh Chahare for the opportunity. #CellMechanics #Mechanobiology 🔬🧫

Epithelial tissues are well-known to invade free space and stop proliferation at confluency. Do we know what regulates cell proliferation spatially and temporally? 🧵by Mathieu Dedenon

Hi I’m @yamini-ravichan.bsky.social, a postdoc interested in the mechanical induction of topological defect-mediated morphogenesis. I use different organisms to study the role of topological defects shaping development & regeneration. Below is an insight to the field!

🔥New perspective: Can we trust the forces of plastic grown cells? Cells on plastic face unique pressures, altering their genome and mechanobiology. We explore how these changes affect cell forces, their reversibility, and propose mitigation strategies sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

(1/n) Excited to share that my PhD work Tamal Das Lab is now published in Nature Cell Biology! How do epithelial cells around a gap sense edge-curvature? We find that the ER acts as a central mechanotransducer, sensing the curvature & guiding cell migration. nature.com/articles/s4155…
