Immigration aside, we need to talk more about the food in Japan. Here are my top 5 common, hearty Japanese dishes that I wish were more present in the US: 5. Oyakodon 親子丼: A comforting bowl of tender chicken and egg simmered in a sweet-savory dashi-soy sauce served over rice

Very few people support or oppose all immigration, no matter what. Most have conditional preferences, so their opinions depend on the nuanced details of how demonstrably good specific policies are for their countries. More amazing Dutch coverage of my book by Jesse Frederik:

New honorary mention. Kare Pan カレーパン ("Japanese curry bread"): deep-fried golden dough filled with aromatic, mildly spicy curry—crispy outside, fluffy inside, perfect on the go. On the photo (right): a piping-hot black bun from Hakone's volcanic steam area bakery (~$2).

SUPREME COURT STRIKES DOWN NATIONWIDE INJUNCTIONS. However, the Court emphasizes that they are NOT deciding on the question of birthright citizenship, and makes clear the executive order will not take effect for 30 days, which will give time to stop it through other means.

I honestly can barely believe this happened. Total YIMBY victory in California today. After Newsom signs this bill; CEQA will no longer apply to *any* infill housing under 85’. No inclusionary zoning or labor provisions.
