Let us keep aside the argument that #CitizenshipAmendmentAct is unconstitutional & biased for a bit to assess why #IndiaRejectsCAA_NRC. 1. The failure of such a rollout in Assam and NE. 2. There is no new plan on how to maintain this registry, no learning from the past failures.

3. The onus of proving one’s citizenship lies in the collective people rather than with the government. We are all treated as immigrants till we go to the registry to prove otherwise. 4. The omission of our neighbourhood countries other than Afghanistan, Bangladesh & Pakistan.
