His "role"? Not just his "role"; He killed it like no one else in the last 40 years. Only comparable with what the great Kapil Dev did in 1983 vs. Zimbabwe

Lot of nervous excitement in the air this morning. 6 more hours to go for the epic finals. My take: if we bat first, there is high probability of victory; and vice versa if we chase. Especially against Australia which is a big match team. #icccricketworldcup2023 #INDvAUS

Today’s game was a non starter. Felt like the mighty Indian batting side never took to the field and instead a pale shadow of theirs tried to tinker a few. Team India gave up without a fight. Australia was a much better side! Way better. Honourable exception was Rohit Sharma

Had the rare honour of witnessing your exemplary leadership through the tourney, all the way into the finals. Rohit Sharma , you were spectacular, led by example and came out guns blazing in all games. Thank you 🙏🏻

Interesting. I’d imagine the persona you described might espouse quiet confidence and want to keep a low profile. People rarely give credit to someone else’s personal achievements unless it has a broader impact on society or themselves.

Spare a thought for South Africa and the extent of fear/ impact Bumrah created. SA needed 30 runs of 30 balls, Klassen and Miller at the crease. But then, 2 golden overs of Bumrah and they choked, eventually snatching defeat from jaws of a seemingly certain victory.
