Our latest take on the role of LKB1 in controlling the epigenetic landscape of the pancreatic beta cell. A huge number of genomic regions, miRNA genes affected. A work started a way back in co-leadership with Inรชs Cebola,Guy Rutter1 and Nejc Haberman. We find that LKB1 controls chromatin accessibility in beta-cells, adding a novel layer (and a bunch of new questions...) to the complex mechanisms underlying LKB1 function in these cells

A new genome editing system uses recombinases guided by bridge RNA which contains two independently reprogrammable loops to direct sequence-specific DNA recombination, enabling insertions, excisions, and inversions. nature.com/articles/s4158โฆ nature.com/articles/s4158โฆ #NBThighlight
