We upgraded Stella’s molecular toolkit w/ not just 1 or 2 but 6 KIs painting multiple cellular components. Congrats Alexandre Paix, who led this exciting endeavor w/ Soham Basu &Peter and continuous collaboration w/ Rajwinder Singh & Prevedel Lab! #EMBL doi.org/10.1073/pnas.2…
It is so exciting!! I’m honored to be awarded the 2023 Emerging Research Organisms Grant from SDB Society for Developmental Biology. I’ll use the grant to achieve the microinjection of shRNA in the rice coral 🪸 Montipora capitata👩🏽🔬,@womensinscience Stowers Institute Gibson Lab
So excited to see this paper come out! We show a single gene controls the development of the harpoon in stinging cells (nematocytes) and suggest harpoon morphology evolved convergently across cnidarians. Evan Bardot 🔬 (our editor) was incredibly helpful in bringing it all together
I am honored that Sarah Walker (twiterless) and mines paper from @EcheverriLab Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL) was short listed by Ken Poss for the Development Outstanding Paper Prize! This was a fun project and truly collaborative effort to get it finished. Congrats to all authors!!!🎉🍾🥂
To wake up on a spring morning and stroll to greet and experience the work of Giacometti Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is but one of the many privileges of living in Kansas City Stowers Institute
