Now online Clinical Cancer Research : Preop SAbR in #PancreaticCancer is associated with locoregional control—especially with arterial involvement—and reveals immune activation. Peter Leung was outstanding leading this to pub! #RadOnc UTSW Simmons Cancer Center @UTSWNews bit.ly/457oz6b

🤞2nd patient soon! ULTRAS is a Ph3 RCT (PI Ali Hosni) of 2 dose levels for 1 fx MR-guided SBRT for liver mets. A hesitation w 1 fx CT-based RT was risk of marginal miss. W better visualization & on table adaptation, I think MR-guided RT has great potential in this setting.

This is a major story from #ASCO25. Randomized phase 3 trial of time of day of immunotherapy infusion. Randomized to infusion before or after 3pm. Early infusion far superior: PFS 11.3 vs 5.7 HR 0.42, OS HR 0.45! Impactful, pragmatic, not costly. This should be a bigger story.

We have proposed something similar, replacing the PTV with an adaptive target volume (ATV). The ATV is a combination of contour uncertainty under adaptive conditions plus an adjustment for residual intra-fractional motion. Personally, I favor an adaptive target volume, because

Love those enriching GI basic science talks…even embryology is so relevant to our field and not on Boards…e.g. blood supply to abdomen is embryology guided..CA foregut..SMA midgut…IMA hindgut UTSW Radiation Oncology Dr. Nina Niu Sanford

🚨🚨🚨 We are activating this single-arm phase 2 trial of hypofractionated RT to oligoprogressive metastatic #melanoma, up to 10 lesions + extensive specimen collection for correlatives. There's an unmet need in this area - hope results of the trial will benefit more patients.

Our adaptive radiation therapy program, led by Shahed Badiyan and Mu-Han Lin, delivers real-time, personalized cancer treatment. Adaptive radiation therapy adjusts for daily anatomical changes—like tumor shrinkage or organ movement—enhancing precision and reducing side effects.
