As AB 2586 recognizes, the University of California, The CSU & California Community Colleges have the legal authority to hire any of their students, regardless of immigration status. #O4All

So many of them were explicitly eugenicist! Ahilan Arulanantham has done a lot of work exposing the history of the laws criminalizing illegal entry that we have on the books today.

Thousands of college students in California are unjustly barred from obtaining paying jobs on campus solely due to their immigration status – widening existing equity gaps & preventing many undocumented students from being able to continue to pursue higher education.
