Designers would really benefit from global design lexicon/system (via Brad Frost). How different design systems swap terms for variables is maddening... primitives, semantic, #brand, variables, tokens, size-0100=8px, size-0100=4px, size-8=8px, size050=8px... then the values…

Design System question... if our most common base size is 16 because of browser typography defaults, why make our sizing base different, say base-4 or base-8, which are very common?

Your MacOS Screenshots are wrong. Run this terminal command to change the file format to HEIC and get some darn accurate color samples (maybe also sync your display & Figma color profiles): defaults write com.apple.screencapture type heic; killall SystemUIServer

Ok so in design systems, #000000 HEX is Black, but a color scale token in a range of 0-999, #gray-001 is nearest to white and #gray-999 is nearest to black. And in LEDs, the absence of color is black, or 0, while white is all of the colors, or 1. Glad we got this straightened out

For the designing of #designsystems, instead of using terms Primary/Secondary/Tertiary for color scale dynamics or Subtle/Neutral/Strong, maybe we might borrow from music dynamics and use unique words to describe quiet/loudness such as "piano" or "forte"… en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dynamics_…

My Twitter/X notifications are filled with random people posting random bullshit rather than the design-centric feed this was originally curated for. Enshittification continues

Design Systems designers: can we call black/gray/white color scales "Mono" or "Monochromatics" rather than "Neutrals", since we're using the term "neutral" to refer to surface colors that often contain a hue? Neutral should describe a color tone, not your default grayscale scheme
