Our December #CommunitySpotlight is The Westerly, our newest mixed-income, mixed-use community in D.C. with partner Hoffman & Associates. You'll hear from Venus, AHC Resident Engagement Specialist, and Patrice, a resident, about what Resident Services means at the community.

Our young residents are getting into the holiday spirit thanks to The Potomac School! Student volunteers brought gingerbread house kits for the kids in our Afterschool program. They worked together to assemble and decorate the houses. Thanks for providing this fun holiday activity!


At the Affordable Housing Conference of Montgomery County Fall Roundtable, Alan Goldstein, AHC VP of Real Estate Development, discussed the complexities of developing affordable housing & highlighted Allium Place — a new project in partnership with Habitat for Humanity Metro Maryland offering both affordable rental & homeownership options.

In Feb. 2024, AHC & DC Goodwill got the greenlight for their proposed redevelopment of Goodwill’s flagship store in Arlington. Since then, the project has received community support and funding. Check out key project milestones this year: ahcinc.org/post/ahc_goodw….



Neeka Samimi, AHC Junior Asset Manager, recently completed the Enterprise Community Partners Mid-Atlantic Resilience Academy. Neeka, pictured second from right, gained valuable insights into climate resilience, funding strategies, and best practices during the eight-week program.






Last month, AHC students attended Virginia Tech's annual Science Festival, which included an overnight stay hosted by the university. Our College & Career Readiness Leaders in Training (CCR LIT) program had an amazing time exploring new ideas and engaging in hands-on activities.
