This is from a USA TODAY article about LGBT persecution in Uganda. The content is horrifying, but I have a language question. Is "goes onto say" acceptable, or should it be "goes on to say"?

"Lenin is with us" is a literal description. It's hard to explain to people who haven't lived in the Soviet Union how ubiquitous was Lenin's presence in posters, school and university textbooks, news, etc. Maybe not as ubiquitous as the Kims' in DPRK, but close.

Backwards and unconnected Arabic is common on signs outside Arab countries, but it's usually printed, and here it appears to be hand-painted. Also, the Persian روباه is broken, but the Arabic ثعلب isn't. Curious.
