Absolutely thrilled that the Essex ICC service has successfully facilitated prescribing Mavacamten this month. This long awaited treatment is set to reduce symptoms and improve QOL for many of our HOCM patients. Thanks to all the team for their hard work ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

We welcomed our local MP Richard Holden MP to the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre this afternoon. It was a great opportunity to highlight our amazing services, including the Inherited Cardiac Conditions clinic, and campaign for more support.

Super proud of Amy Hardy-Wallace who was invited to share her career journey at the AICC conference in Cambridge today. An ICC nurse for less than 2 years but already on the ICC nursing network steering group too ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ

I feel very privileged to have been invited to share my career journey in ICC albeit short, thank you @AiccUk. None of which would have been possible without Dr Jason Dungu PhD FRCP FESC and his passion to develop the Essex ICC Service, which I am so proud to be involved with!

Great example of the benefits of TOE! Severely impaired and dilated 8cm left ventricle with seemingly moderate AR on TTE, TOE confirms severe leak due to LCC prolapse. Images by our excellent imaging fellow Dr Umme Parveen ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ Patient booked for surgery next week ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ

In just over two months, I will do the London Marathon to raise money for the British Heart Foundation! They have also almost single-handedly funded my research career to date. So it is time to give something back! Fund raising page: lnkd.in/dBK5mrEF
