Flight activity at Kufra Airport in southeastern Libya 🇱🇾, near the tri-border area, remains consistent. Satellite imagery from 30 June shows two IL-76TD cargo aircraft arriving, with an (AN-26?) transport plane still positioned on the northern apron.

UAE-based Maximus Air Cargo Antonov AN-124-100 heavy-lift aircraft – the world’s largest commercial cargo plane – (w\ reg. UR-ZYD) departed earlier this morning from the UAE Air Force’s Al Reef Airbase in Abu Dhabi 🇦🇪 and has since arrived at Harar Meda Airbase in Ethiopia 🇪🇹.

Maximus Air Cargo has close ties to the UAE Government and Ministry of Defence. Notably, this particular AN-124 aircraft is operating under the registration UR-ZYD – with 'ZYD' widely believed to reference the Zayed Al Nahyan, the ruling family of Abu Dhabi 🇦🇪.

Pecotox Air Boeing 747-409F freighter (registration 🇲🇩 ER-MDR) departed from Sharjah Airport in the UAE this morning and has landed at N'Djamena Airport, Chad. This marks the aircraft’s fourth flight between the UAE 🇦🇪 and Chad 🇹🇩 in just a week.

Fly Sky Airlines IL-76TD cargo aircraft (Reg. 🇰🇬 EX-76018) operated two consecutive flights from an “unidentified destination” to Bosaso Airport 🇸🇴 on 2 and 3 July. Each time, it returned to the same unknown location before flying back again Bosaso.

The number of 🇦🇪 cargo flights has been steadily increasing over the past three weeks. Last week alone saw a new record—the highest since the beginning of the year—with three suspicious cargo flights arriving from the UAE 🇦🇪 to both 🇪🇹 Addis Ababa airport and Harar Meda airbase.

A Turkish-made 🇹🇷 Bayraktar TB2 Unmmand Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV) was recently spotted at Aden Adde International Airport (MGQ/HCMM) in Mogadishu, Somalia 🇸🇴. Geolocation below ⬇️

A Sapsan Airlines IL-76TD cargo aircraft (reg. 🇰🇬 EX-76008) flew from eastern Libya 🇱🇾 to Bosaso Airport in Puntland, Somalia 🇸🇴 this morning. The aircraft has been notably active over the past month, operating frequently between Benghazi and Turkey 🇹🇷.

A Fly Sky Airlines IL-76TD cargo aircraft (reg. 🇰🇬 EX-76018) was tracked just minutes ago en route to Bosaso Airport in Puntland, 🇸🇴. This aircraft has been flying the same route almost every single day!

Pecotox Air Boeing 747-409F freighter (reg. 🇲🇩 ER-MDR) was spotted early this morning, taking off from N'Djamena Airport, Chad 🇹🇩, en route back to the UAE 🇦🇪. Flight tracking data confirms its departure & arrival at Abu Dhabi. We'll now see whether a fifth flight will follow.

A Sapsan Airlines IL-76TD cargo aircraft (reg. 🇰🇬 EX-76030) flew today from Ain Airport in the UAE 🇦🇪 to eastern Libya 🇱🇾. The day before, it operated a flight from Ain to Al-Safeer Airbase in Abu Dhabi, where it was loaded before returning to Ain Airport.

New Way Cargo IL-76TD freighter (reg. EX-76023) carried out a highly suspicious flight early this morning. The aircraft departed from Al-Safeer base in Abu Dhabi 🇦🇪 before dropping off radar while flying over 🇴🇲. Its likely destination was either Bosaso Airport 🇸🇴 or Ethiopia 🇪🇹.

A Fly Sky Airlines Ilyushin IL-76TD cargo aircraft (reg. 🇰🇬 EX-76017, callsign FY4936) departed the UAE 🇦🇪 and is currently flying over Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 en route to eastern Libya 🇱🇾.
