I've long been fascinated to learn more about Mwamuka, an associate of the first RF premier, Winston Field; and the first black headmaster of a government primary school in Rhodesia. He's pictured here at right at his son's wedding, shortly before he passed away in 1972.

Edson Sithole would have turned 90 today; Zimbabwe's second black advocate after Herbert Chitepo. My book project to recover more than two dozen of his writings & speeches and tell his biographical story will hopefully see publication this year.

doi.org/10.1080/000839… Delighted this is out open access with Canadian Journal of African Studies. Nelson Samkange first caught my eye due to his leading role in the ZNP in 1961. He was ZAPU's UK rep at UDI and then followed Chikerema into Frolizi before being rehabilitated by ZANU post 1980.
