Wednesday’s Learning Night at MYES was a big success! I got to see lots of families come through our literacy room and get tons of fun ideas of how to practice letter recognition, fluency, and more at home. Also, math, pattern blocks, book tasting, therapy dogs, and book swap.

One of my favorite days of the year: supporting the FCPS-MD 5th Grade Honors Chorus rehearsal Weinberg Center in downtown Frederick. Tonight’s concert is going to be so, so beautiful. 🎶

Last week, I had the chance to present a music lesson to children at the Charles Town Public Library. We sang, we signed (ASL), we played handheld percussion instruments, and at the end, I demonstrated a few string and wind instruments. A lovely time was had by all. 😊

Last week’s #WeAreVPA curriculum writing was so energizing and rewarding. (The elementary music team worked on simplifying and organizing our vast collection of resources for ease of use.) I look forward to helping enact our new vision as a PK-12 department. 🎨🎶🩰🎭
