Earlier this week Liverpool fans were saying they were needed in the Champions League to restore the Premier League’s reputation…

“The Premier League believes the use of SAOT will save around 31 seconds per decision.

“…assistant referees will have a voice in their earpiece informing them of the semi-automated offside decision and can raise their flag immediately.”

Big upgrade.

Shame it won’t be there from day one, but this will be a very positive change.

Hopefully we’ve seen the last of an official forgetting to draw the lines, and we should get much clearer graphics of offsides so even the likes of Erik ten Hag can understand them.

We’ve had four amazing quarter-final first legs, all without the away goals rule.

The pro-away-goals crowd generally do this confirmation bias thing where they’ll only have the conversation after a bad game, so I’m here to do the opposite.

Never thought I’d see the day where someone discovered running in a Twitter thread.

Running is literally defined by the fact you sometimes have both feet off the floor. If you never take both feet off the floor, you’re walking.

Since none of them got yellow cards last night, Jorginho, White, Kiwior, Saliba, Zinchenko, and Jesus are all now safe from yellow-card suspensions in this CL campaign.

Only Havertz and Rice remain at risk, facing a ban if we make the semis and they get booked next Wednesday.

Funny thing is I’d actually made peace with the draw at 94:00. Then one minute later I was fuming about it.

Crazy that we saw a Premier League penalty awarded for less than that with Harvey Elliott vs United, but in the Champions League we’re not getting it.

Inexperienced referee bottling the big decision because he’s scared to make it.
