In the coming days, I will be in Tunisia to assess the current situation for migrants and refugees and the implications of the new EU deal. 1/

The victims of these deals are the asylum seekers fleeing war and persecution, whose rights are undermined. Many of them are unsafe in Tunisia, cannot get sufficient protection and dignified conditions, and face a very hostile climate. 3/

I will travel to Tunis and Sfax to talk to migrant communities and civil society to better understand the situation, focusing strongly on human rights, access to protection and dignified reception, and rescue at sea. 4/4 Follow for updates.
