we're way up here in northern Massachusetts, almost in New Hampshire & if you're a fan of my novel THE CHAIN this is the exact spot where the book begins: thank goodness those events are all in the past now & nothing like that or even an echo of that cd ever happen again...

the mouth of the Merrimack River now I think most people have read Thoreau's "Walden" but also worth reading is his book about a journey down the Merrimack called "A Week on the Concord and Merrimack Rivers" which he undertook w his brother...

this is often a curse not a superpower news.sky.com/story/irish-an… if you're from Belfast you can't cope when English, American, Aussie & Kiwi actors try to do an Irish (esp a N Irish) accent

glad to see that my favourite pub in Oxford, The Rose & Crown, made the Telegraph's list of the best pubs in England: telegraph.co.uk/travel/best-pu… great beers, great ambience & for you cynics out there it is NOT owned by my sister or anyone I know it's just a really nice pub

the best beach in the British Isles is, of course, Portstewart Strand in Co. Antrim we locals have always known this if you vaguely recognize it, it's because it's been in a couple of dozen episodes of Game of Thrones anyway, its the best 👇 thetimes.com/travel/destina…

My new DI Duffy novel begins w Ciaran Carson reading his poem Belfast Confetti in a bookshop. Dodging a riot Duffy gets trapped in a maze of Belfast streets, survives guns & bombs, while trying to write & figure out his life. The poem is a cheeky spoiler for the entire book 😉

Deeply moved by the magnificent scenery of the Giant's Causeway. This unique natural landscape is breathtakingly beautiful. I'm so glad I came here!

The Open starts next week at Royal Portrush; here's why the course is so special: golfdigest.com/story/royal-po… & mate I've been to 50 countries in 6 continents & I still say the most beautiful drive on Earth is the coast road from Carrickfergus to Portstewart (avoiding Larne ofc)

I think David Corenswet might be my fav Superman actor since Christopher Reeve; he's got an essential sweetness to him to go w his strength. And like Reeve he's funny & vulnerable. All to the good.

Lunch at the Lexington Candy Shop Diner where Redford got his sandwiches in 3 Days of the Condor…. So we’re going to be fine but everyone back at the office is dead
