To navigate a 2.5 front challenge, India must stabilize the 0.5 front at home with dignity and equal rights, explore diplomatic off-ramps with the western front and prepare decisively for the real contest—economic and military—with China.

Lesson in international relations: Let governments and diplomats do the signalling. Global affairs operate on interests, not emotions. There are no permanent friends or enemies, only shifting alignments driven by strategic necessity.

“Bhagwan na kare, there’s another war”~ AM AK Bharti. This is perhaps the most important message of the conflict. It’s time the war-mongering RW ecosystem on TV & SM listened from those who bear the cost of war. Calm down. Hope for peace isn’t anti national. It’s realism.

Trump could say that because in 25 years we’ve made no real progress, internally or externally, on Kashmir. The West will use it to serve their interests, but is it in India’s interest, as an aspiring global player, to keep the Kashmir discourse alive?

Adnan Ashraf Mir (@adnanashrafmir) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Contrast that with how Kashmiris are treated, in and outside Kmr, esp in times of tension. The CM you refer to heads a UT & not even invited to security meetings. A people whose democratic mandate is sidelined by the unelected. Delhi must realise it is letting Kashmir down.

The opposition didn’t politicise the war. Social and religious groups opposed to the BJP didn’t politicise the war. 140 crore Indians stood united and didn’t politicise the war. It’s only the ruling BJP and its ecosystem that is now politicising the war. Let that sink in.

ISLAMOPHOBIA ALERT ‼️ There are dozens of Islamic countries—unsurprisingly all led by Muslims. By that logic, should they all be anti-India? Turkey’s position stems from its historic ties with Pak, not bcs Erdogan is Muslim. Somehow all “analysis” ends up as lazy Muslim-bashing.

Israel today stands more isolated in global politics and public opinion than ever. It should be a stark reminder for those who wish to emulate its path.

Lots of talk of who won, India or Pakistan. In reality, each side did enough to be able to reasonably claim victory to its respective publics, and with few political costs. That helps explain why they agreed to a ceasefire even amid soaring tensions and escalating hostilities.

“Like it or not, the Pak Army has shown it is willing to fight. This has given renewed hope to the pro-Pakistan constituency within Kashmir. To win this battle, India needs a sharply focused strategy to strengthen the legitimacy of the political system”, Praveen Swami writes.

While the rest of the political spectrum is busy convincing the world, at least someone has the heart to empathize with their own people—the ones who’ve actually borne the cost of war. Thoughtful gesture by Mamata Banerjee All India Trinamool Congress

On Shaheed Abdul Gani Lone sb’s 23rd death anniversary, we remember a courageous voice of reason & dignity. A visionary who believed in dialogue over violence & dreamt of a peaceful, dignified future for Kmr. His untimely loss was a profound blow to Kashmiris. His legacy lives on
