1/ Every week, as per British law, the Guardian is obliged to print an article by an English-speaking expat complaining about how "right-wing" the European country they live in has "become". This is what I call the "laptop-class bubble effect" (LCBE). theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

The level of taxation is nuts, and having to see images of disembodied body parts is the icing on the cake. No wonder the black market is thriving, and they estimated to be losing £2.6 billion in tax revenue.

I miss the days when Joe Rogan used to be authentic and had in-depth conversations with loads of interesting guests from all different areas. Now, he increasingly feels like a paid sell-out.

This is nonsense. I don't think planning reform is deregulation. But even if you think it is, it's mainly deregulating the state, not the private sector.

Yesterday we had the second reading of the Tobacco and Vapes Bill. The generation smoking ban is not only illiberal, but it will lead to wide-scale retail ID checks for ALL ages, escalating abuse and violence against shop workers. As for draconian restrictions on the best

Nostalgia is such a weird thing. How can people seriously look back on 9/11, the war on terror and several years of economic instability as being like this?

Winter Fuel Payment withdrawal was sound policy, but politically they didn't set expectations - the change came as a nasty shock. The triple lock is unsustainable, it needs to end. But the expectations of its withdrawal needs to be signposted far in advance.
