Cisco Live 2025 just wrapped and AI is now duct-taped to everything. New gear, new buzzwords, and somehow… fewer dashboards. Here’s what actually mattered from the keynote, minus the corporate fluff.

Just got back from Cisco Live and wow, there’s nothing like being surrounded by people who genuinely love what they do. The energy, the ideas, the hallway conversations… it’s contagious. I left feeling more fired up and in love with this industry than ever. If you’ve been

You keep calling everything an SFP and that’s a problem. SFP, SFP+, QSFP+, QSFP28, QSFP-DD… they’re not interchangeable names, and they sure as hell aren’t interchangeable modules. If you don’t know what you’re plugging in, you’re just asking for headaches. Let’s fix that.

Don’t walk into a cybersecurity interview confusing IDS with IPS. One detects, the other prevents, and mixing them up is the fastest way to get passed over. If you’re serious about security, you better know which one actually blocks traffic. IDS ≠ IPS. Learn the difference or

Ok, now I’ve officially ā€œmade itā€! Thank you Chuck, that means so much coming from you. I’m glad we got to finally meet!

You ever meet someone with a wall full of certs but zero time in the trenches? Yeah… that’s what we call paper certified. It’s not a flex if you can’t back it up. Certs are great, but without real experience, lab work, or even a home lab, you’re just collecting logos. Worse,

The first time I saw a MAC table get exhausted, it wasn’t an attack, it was my core switch begging for an upgrade. But the end result? Same chaos. Switch flooded, performance tanked, packets flying everywhere. MAC table exhaustion isn’t just a hacker trick, it’s a real risk if

Subnetting doesn’t have to be full of charts, tricks, and magic numbers. Once you understand the logic of binary math, and memorize the binary values, you can quickly subnet in your head. #subnetting #ccna #networking #networkplus #stem #tech #binary #ip

Your BGP session stayed up for 3 full minutes after the link went down? That’s not high availability, that’s a liability. BGP doesn’t rely on TCP to detect dead neighbors, it uses its own timers. And by default, Cisco waits up to 180 seconds before it even realizes something’s
