Addison Police will be conducting a Roadside Safety Checkpoint tonight, September 12, from 9:00 PM until tomorrow, at 1:00 AM, for vehicles traveling eastbound on US Route 20 (Lake Street) near 9th Avenue. Police will be checking driver sobriety and any vehicle safety violations.

APD is taking part in the 2025 STEP Traffic Enforcement Program, funded by IDOT through September 30. This grant allows us to assign additional officers with a focus on enforcing speed limits. Secondary enforcement will focus on seat belt usage, impaired and distracted driving.
