I'm appalled that the B-listed Africa House in Ardeer, one of the last surviving buildings of Glasgow's 1938 Empire Exhibition, has just been illegally demolished. No listed building consent. The owner has likely committed a criminal offence. They should be forced to rebuild it.

The government says it will close a loophole that allowed a family from Gaza to claim residence in Britain under a plan intended for Ukrainian refugees. An immigration judge had ruled that the human rights of the family of six Palestinians outweighed restrictions in the law.

Ukraine’s right to independence and territorial integrity must be absolute. Any peace deal must recognise this. The international community should not concede to aggression and we must not allow Putin’s violence to be rewarded.
