We were thrilled to host Gov. Tim Walz and DEED Comm. Matt Varilek as we continue our partnership with the state to support Minnesota's economy and innovative thinkers. University of Minnesota demonstrates a breadth of knowledge in early-stage businesses and technology that serves Minnesotans.

This week, Governor Walz signed legislation to improve pedestrian safety on the Washington Avenue Bridge. University Services VP Alice Roberts-Davis represented the University of Minnesota at the ceremony. Thank you to the many advocates that supported this critical legislation.

. UMN Duluth Chancellor Nies is a true Minnesotan. He grew up in Hutchinson, earned his bachelors’ degree at the University of St. Thomas, and worked at the 3M plant in Hutchinson. He is coming full circle now that he is back home leading this great university.
