What a day! Lots of work but worth it to bring so many stroke professionals together to share, learn and build communities. So grateful to Ranj Parmar and Alison for holding us to account and ensuribg the patient and carer voice is at the centre of all we do. Lots to build on!

Days 2 & 3 of my trip saw me riding from Dieppe to Paris. Today was 85 hilly miles bringing me to 200 in total over the first 3 days. Thankfully tomorrow is a rest day! Time to restock on snacks, wash my clothes and take in a bit of Paris! #strokeawarenessmonth

We’ve reached a milestone University Hospital Southampton 💙 Wessex Neurological Centre 1000 mechanical thrombectomies over the last decade, including 167 this year. Huge credit to all our teams in achieving this, and all the work going in to making this extraordinary treatment accessible for more stroke patients.

🎉 Milestone alert! Yesterday, our Stroke Team at Wessex Neurological Centre hit 250 mechanical thrombectomies this year — nearly a quarter of all we've done since 2015! This revolutionary stroke treatment restores blood flow to the brain, improving outcomes for many patients. 🧠 (1/2)

Todays jaw to the floor moment UK Stroke Forum was learning that women consistently achieve poorer outcomes post stroke than men. I shouldn't have been surprised, but I was. This is clearly just one of many unacceptable inequities in stroke care. Work to do.
