📔𝗔𝗻𝗶𝗺 𝗧𝗶𝗽 #𝟐: 𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐄 𝐅𝐀𝐂𝐄!!😠😲😱 We look at faces to perceive emotion, personality, and intent in a character. Try to find key poses that put emphasis on the face, especially in the antic and follow through poses. Just hold a cool face pose for a few frames!

📔Anim Tip #3: Unique & Readable Action🔍 Unique choreography is essential to make your anims stand out, especially in a reel, but be careful! Make sure the movements are clear to someone who’s seeing it for the first time. Grab a friend to watch it and tell you what they see!👀

Since Ares, Kratos' spar with Týr is the first time he's faced off against another god of war ⚔️ Our DLC co-directors share why they chose Týr as the final boss of Valhalla & how lore established in 2018 defined his fighting style. Full interview 👉 youtu.be/1lnHeODTB2o

📔Anim Tip #4: Use VFX Trails💨 VFX trails allow you to translate your attack over farther distances each frame because the viewer will naturally use the trail as an indicator of where the attack has traveled. It's the same idea as smear frames, but more realistic and snappy!💪

Here's a really fast and easy way to present your animation cycles with a Maya playblast, no compositing/editing needed🚶‍♂️ #animation #tutorial #walkcycle

Venom animation I did during preproduction on Spider-Man 2. We ended up going in a slightly different direction than this test, but it was a blast to experiment with how much he could potentially morph around. The 2D animation was done in photoshop. #SpiderMan #SpiderMan2PS5

📔Anim Tip #5: Hand Shake Layer 🪇 If you flex your arm, you'll feel your muscles vibrate and it shakes your fist. During polish, add a shake anim layer on the IK hand ctrl when the muscles are tight or hit a hard surface. It'll be more powerful, in the same way as camera shake!

Absolute sadness to see this in writing. It’s been a week since the news but emotionally, an eternity. Even though it’s a small final update, we can look forward to the physical version being released. To everyone who supported us, you are all rockstars.

Animating something right now that really makes me proud, it’s been a bit since I had that feeling. Be sure to stay vigilant in identifying animations that speak to your passion more than others and give it your all! 💪

100% on board with this opinion. There’s so much depth to animation that is ignored in most western game animation. AND this can be done with mocap! We can apply principles of animation to mocap if directors embrace it. Mocap + hand key = future of animation 🔮

I went from animating one muscular man who brutally kills his enemies to the other😅 Kratos and Wolverine are pretty similar in terms of combat animation style, just one of them is a disciplined soldier, and the other is an animal🐗 youtu.be/s3pDMUWlA6I
