One of my papers is now forthcoming at PPR! It provides a new foundation for a swathe of moral phenomena: for gratitude, compensation, promises, and non-maleficence (e.g. DDE). We think one can understand all these domains in terms of contact with value. philpapers.org/rec/LOVCMA-3

New paper just accepted in Philosophical Studies😄 For those interested, it covers (what I think is) the most compelling argument for letting tiny probabilities of huge payoffs swamp moral decisions And some fascinating objections (& counter-objections) philpapers.org/rec/WILEAF-5

What's wrong with coercion? It's natural to answer this in terms of autonomy. Coercion makes people less free. In a new paper I argue that it's better to answer it in terms of equality. Coercion subordinates the people being coerced. Check it out here: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.11…

I've been listening to Caro's LBJ epic. I'm about 2/3 through. But Caro hasn't finished the final volume. He's 88. We need an industrial policy to finish Caro's LBJ biography. Operation Warp Speed, but for Caro. Give him Air Force One to go to Vietnam. I don't care. Just hurry.
