Fairly certain that the first lawyers to be replaced by AI will be transactional associates. Going to be a tough employment landscape out there when bot can review a 200-page document for inconsistencies and cleanup in 10 seconds.

When I mention AI or “ChatGPT” and its capabilities in the legal field around the house, my 14 year old looks at me with the exact same eye roll I gave my parents who were trying to understand the internet and “AOL” back in the day. I am becoming obsessed with AI. Exciting times.

For those of you somewhat newly-minted small law firm owners who have recently hired associates, how’s that going for you? Honest answers only.

nothing better than the type of friend or work colleague that says in the middle of a call oh I need to call you back and then never does and it’s never texted or talked about again and the next phone convo just happens 2 weeks later about something else

Woke up and saw our 🔥 high-intensity Pilates franchise client Tremble featured in the The Wall Street Journal. This brand is a rocket ship, and the founder (pictured in the middle) is amazing. DM me to connect with Aryan.

One of my clients is quickly growing a portfolio of legacy brand auto care center franchises. Doesn’t really care where they are but looking for silver tsunami deals. Finally quit the day job and is doing this full time. Enjoy being on the ride with entrepreneurs.

I speak to these types of highly motivated corporate titans looking to get out of their W-2 all day about getting into franchising and assist with risk assessment and negotiations. Great call out Nik.

The math always maths. If you are looking at buying a franchise in a new territory, you might consider working with a financial planner or CPA on a worst case/best case proforma using information received from the brand and existing franchisees. I can’t tell you how unprepared

Rented a Turo for the first time for a month. Using the car about an hour from where I picked it up. Just realized the tag is expired…by a full year! Will I be calling Matt Margolis to bail me out of jail for stealing a car?

California is making it even harder and more expensive for franchisors to sell franchises in that state. To put this into context, the filing fees in California are now over $1,000 more than the next most expensive state. Slightly more than half the country has no fee.

Franchising is not a Choose-Your-Own-Adventure book. It is a system of rules and responsibilities that must be followed with minimal to no deviation. If you have ideas on how the brand could be run better, maybe being a franchisee isn’t for you…
