The more I learn about point of care ultrasound, the more annoyed I get at the state of technology in the NHS. A busy A&E department should not have one huge, old ultrasound machine it has to share with other departments.

Jonathan Every ward should have an ultrasound. Basic US skills should be part of undergrad and foundation curriculum. And I am not the most evangelical of US people. It would genuinely reduce harm quickly - and that would just be by increasing cannula placements first time.
