2023 Goal of the Year:

Had a wonderful week at #ISH2023! Thank you to everyone who helped put it together, including the current president Rachel A. Ankeny (she/her). Met many great people and saw lots of cool talks. Anyone interested in any aspect of biology should checkout ISHPSSB.

I have now read and highly recommend @DrKeishaRay's new book 'Black Health'! I learned a lot and will be using parts of it in my bioethics class this fall. It has material on social determinants of health, racism in medicine, history of human research, and much more! Get it now!

I'm so excited to be discussing theories of healthcare justice in my bioethics class tomorrow! What are some of your favorite books and/or articles on healthcare justice?

I did a day on basic genetics in my bioethics class. Good thing I talked about Rosalind Franklin. A student told me that their bio professor didn't even mention her when talking about figuring out the structure of DNA. Told some story about Watson & Crick scribbling in a bar..😤
