After 10.5 years, I’ve been laid off by openDemocracy.
This round of redundancy included most of the UK team. Three longstanding sections - oDR, ourEconomy and democraciaAbierta - were all also shut/mothballed in the last 6 months: a total of 21 journalists redundant.
I’ve been made redundant from openDemocracy along with several of the kindest, most supportive and talented people I’ve had the honour of working with
I’m now looking for new opportunities. Here are some of the stories I’m most proud of:
The Times have finally picked up the story of the Braverman’s homes, funded by us, in Rwanda being sold off.
Adam Bychawski reported back in January that 50% had been sold. Times reporting today 70%. We’re building more homes in Rwanda than we are here.

So-called 'permitted development' was introduced in 2013 under David Cameron. To date, it's estimated to have cost England 25,000 affordable homes.
The Tories blame immigration for the housing crisis while expanding policies like this.
