The departure of Tim Loughton MP 🇺🇦 means we hit the 100 mark of the number of MPs who have said they are standing down, 64 Tories already, 4 more who were elected as Tories and now independents - whatever the election result, 24 is going to be a big changing of the guard - what will…

The Angela Rayner 🌹 saga. I get it. Attack dog attacked. Karma.
But really?
A police investigation into whether she was registered at wrong address?
Is that it?
Not that she voted twice, no act of personation.
It seems petty beyond belief and a total waste of police time

Re Angela Rayner case
'The definition of residence is not set out in detail in electoral law. The courts have decided that a person can be resident at more than one address'

Seems clear Tory ⁦James Daly MP⁩ may be guilty of wasting Police time. What's the penalty for that?

Giving false information is an offence under section 13D of the Representation of the People Act 1983

However, the act imposes a time bar of *one year* for the launch of any prosecution

(and the Rayner allegations relate to pre 2015)

The law is making an ass of itself in prosecuting a 69 year old climate change protestor for holding a placard telling juries what their rights are. My column

Respectfully, I wholly disagree with John McTernan.

The Tories have shovelled power into the hands of the executive, which Labour *could* use for its own purposes. But in so doing, it would entrench & legitimise that power.

The ring must be destroyed. Its power can only corrupt

Cass was a skirmish, now prepare for a war. The adult gender clinics refusing to share data reveal the problems ahead for evidence-based treatment. My ⁦The Times and The Sunday Times⁩ column.

The new Lord Rector of the University of Glasgow. Elected by the students. Quoting Bobby Sands and Che Guevara. Like a juvenile student politician. Best not to say too much. But Sands is not immortal. He’s dead. And if children are able to laugh in Belfast today it’s because…

I want every single person (overwhelmingly, men) claiming feminists have been hateful during the gender wars to follow this link. Don't forget to look through all the pages. Now show us your evidence that gender critical women have behaved similarly.

“I think we will see criminal convictions, I think we will see people going to prison for it and I think it is right and proper that we should.”

There are “plenty of fireworks yet to come”, says Lord Arbuthnot, on his “cathartic” speaking at the Post Office inquiry.

And in a 1991 BBC Panorama programme we showed how PM John Major had been registered in 1968 at a house in Lambeth which the owner told me he'd never lived at - not even for one night. That qualified him to stand for Lambeth Council, and he duly won a seat. The Mail splash…

Important thread about the very partial role the BBC has played in promoting controversial & contested beliefs about gender identity, not shared by a majority of the public, to children. I'm a supporter of BBC overall but much for it to reflect on in its failures on impartiality.
