Today we had the most amazing afternoon taking part in the children’s capital of culture relay.Greasbrough Primary quickly passed on the baton as we ran from Rockingham to Wingfield with a lap of the school perimeter. It was wonderful to be part of such a special event.

Yesterday we were honoured to be a part of the Rotherham School’s Baton Relay to celebrate Rotherham being selected as the Children’s Capital of Culture for 2025. Well done to all students who took part in running the baton to Rescope to continue the next leg of the journey.

A school in Rotherham is finishing the final leg of a relay between 84 schools today. Over 300 children between ages 6 & 16 have walked or run to their nearest school to hand over the baton-spanning more than 100 miles.

Rotherham’s Baton Relay = energy, teamwork and community 👏 I was kindly invited to run the last leg - 84 schools, 100+miles and 13,000(!) engaged children along the way. Great example of getting the next generation outdoors, building confidence and having fun! 🏃‍♂️ 👏
