August 1st: Emancipation Day Celebration at Central Park!!✊🏾🎉

The first week of August was an incredibly busy and vibrant time for ACOMI as we hosted the Africa Pavilion during the Folklorama Festival from August 3rd to 9th. We thank all our visitors, guests, performing groups, vendors and volunteers for making it a memorable event.

This year's Africa Pavilion was an opportunity to share our culture, food, dance and music with visitors. Among several cultural performances a special mention goes to Ngorimba Arts Band from Edmonton, originally from Zimbabwe, whose performance was a true highlight of the event.

Join ACOMI and the We Belong initiative for the Diversity & Inclusion Policy Awareness Workshop — a community event promoting inclusion and equity in Manitoba’s arts and culture sector.
