Ss built 3-digit numbers using base ten blocks today. Then they wanted to see how big of a number they could create by combining them all! We made a place value chart on the floor, and used different strategies to efficiently find the sum! tvdsbmath Westfield PS

This week, gr 2/3 Ss tackled their latest #tweetmath challenge by working together to find out how many “normal” candy canes would match the length of the world’s tallest of 15.5m! Ss used floor tiles, meter sticks, and whiteboards to find solutions! Westfield PS tvdsbmath

Somehow it’s already April 6th… here’s a delayed look at our St. Patrick’s Day #stem challenge. Using designated materials, build a way to steal the Leprechaun’s gold! Ss could not come within 30cm, and had a time limit to capture the gold (chocolate). WinchesterPS
