What’s required is a more sober and honest reflection upon human nature than progressives are comfortable with. We tend to assume that, given the choice and sufficient information, people do good things. About half of them do. The other half just want an excuse to do bad things.

And as long as his spite and malice is only directed at people they don’t like, then the more spiteful and malicious he is, the better. (Some of them may be in for a nasty shock in this regard)
