The transmural hyper enhancement at the apex is commonly thought to be from a heart attack. But for ACHD patients of a prior era it represents the site of a prior LV cannulae used to “vent” the heart during cardiac surgery not a heart attack. #achd #whycmr

Double Inlet Left Ventricle (DILV) is a congenital heart defect where both the right and left atria connect to the left ventricle. While many patients go to a Fontan. This patient had a PA band plus Glenn. They are finely balanced and is now over 50 years old! #achd

In pts w/aortic valve disease and subAS it can be hard to distinguish the cause of a high gradient. CCT is a great way to look at both and I prefer this over TEE. Here is a patient with a high mean gradient by echo with difficult windows. The subAS is well seen. #achd #yesCCT
