There is a huge disparity in cancer outcomes by race. We have found in myeloma that the disparity is not because the cancer is more aggressive in African Americans. African Americans had similar survival as Whites if they have similar access to care. It is access & affordability

Sometimes we don’t change lives by changing outcomes; sometimes we do it by impacting the narratives our patients hold about those outcomes. So grateful to JAMA for sharing this piece. jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/…
