In 2018 Joseph Murray came up with the idea for #drDeaf. There was a need for more deaf academic spaces for academics at different career stages, also because many of the existing academic spaces were not accessible or only through interpreters. A collaborative thread 🧵

In 2019 we organized the first #drDeaf writing retreat, that Joseph Murray and I facilitated. We’re still seeing publications from that workshop! acadeafic.org/2020/01/30/eig…

In 2020, the pandemic forced us to move the writing retreat online. In 2021 Joseph Murray facilitated an online writing workshop with EDSU #drDeaf
