Did you know our Hospital Trust is set to open one of the largest renal services in the UK? Kidney care in SW London, Surrey will be transformed under the plans for a specialist renal unit to treat the most seriously-ill patients. It's planned to open in 2027 #WorldHealthDay

When I was at St George’s Hospital, Tooting, south London, for 29 days & 29 nights in January & February of this year, I was overwhelmed by the kindness & expertise of the nurses who tended me during my long hospitalisation. I’ve attached a list that name-checks them all.❤️ (2/2)

16% of women in surgical training reported experiencing unwelcome sexual comments or advances, in the GMC national training survey today. There is considerable work to do to eradicate abhorrent behaviours in our profession. The action we are taking ➡️ow.ly/LzuW50SKebS

Never, ever thought I'd have to tell my daughters that because they're brown, they have to be careful outside. I never even had this in 80s and 90s. And as for 'taking your jobs'. You're welcome trying to do a kidney transplant but not sure how good your outcomes will be ...

There are currently over 6,000 patients waiting for a kidney transplant. It is so important to tell your loved ones what your wishes are around donating your own organs, in the event of your death. It can be a difficult and sad conversation to have, but can transform the lives

“Too many students are put off surgery because they believe this culture will continue...the actions that the College is taking mean so much to me.” Forum member Enya on tackling sexual misconduct in surgery. See how The Royal College of Surgeons of England is taking action: ow.ly/oFqX50Tvlo9

What more needs to be done to tackle sexual misconduct? Today, we hosted the The Working Party on Sexual Misconduct in Surgery summit, to challenge the NHS & regulators to effectively support targets and make reporting easier. So it's good NHS England has today announced the introduction of anonymous reporting [1/2]
