Update: The two people that were unaccounted for were able to get of the tunnel and arroyo on their own. They were not injured and all are accounted for. Crews are clearing their designated flood channel rescue locations and returning to quarters.

The IOAD theme for 2023 is “Recognizing those people who go unseen,” in honor of those whose lives have been altered by overdose. AFR is dedicated to helping reduce overdose incidents in our community with the leave behind Narcan kits and educating the public on prevention.

AFR and NM Gas are on the 4100 block of Ridgeley Ave NE. Crews are evacuating residents from Montclaire east to Washington. NM Gas is getting readings of natural gas in the ground. Crews will continue evacuating until gas is no longer detected. Avoid the area.

UPDATE: Natural Gas leak at 4100 Ridgeley Ave NE has been mitigated. Evacuations will remain in place until crews can determine that levels in the ground are safe. Conditions are being monitored by AFR and NM Gas and occupants will be allowed to return to their homes when safe.

AFR & APD on scene at Tramway & Indian School working a fatal motor vehicle collision. Two patients were transported with serious injuries & one was pronounced deceased on scene. Avoid the area. Tramway is shut down in both directions from Lomas to Indian School. Albuquerque Police Department

On May 28 at 13:54 AFR, BCFR & Kirtland AFB responded to University south of Rio Bravo for a plane crash. BCFR and AFR’s Batt 1 confirmed a downed aircraft on fire. The pilot was located & transported while fire was extinguished. Scene has been turned over to Kirtland.

UPDATE: Central is shut down in both directions at La Veta. Crews will have to do additional excavation to stop the gas leak. Avoid the area. On 7/7/24 at 10:32 E-11 responded to a blowing gas line at Central & La Veta. Utility work was being done & a gas line was hit. New Mexico Gas Company

UPDATE: AFR crews have cleared the scene at Central and La Veta. NM Gas has stopped the leak. Traffic patterns should be returning to normal.
